Positive Signs For Our Estate’s Permissive Paths

We have added new interpretation panels to our series of circular permissive paths in Long Hanborough.

We have created four circular waymarked walks, varying in length from 30 minutes to two hours, with start and finish points linked to our Hanborough Gate development.

Our permissive paths were designed to provide greater access to the wider estate and we hope the new signage will provide additional information on local wildlife and encourage more people to explore.

“The aim of the permissive paths was to share the estate with others and to promote the benefits both of exercise and interacting with the countryside for mental and physical wellbeing", said Rachel Furness-Smith, Head of Estates.

“Spending time in green space, taking exercise in the fresh air and appreciating nature are all well-proven ways of reducing anxiety and depression".

“We have now put up additional interpretation and information about the routes, plants, trees and wildlife in the hope it will provide a richer experience and a greater insight into the wider estate".

“One of the real pleasures of living in this area is its rich history and heritage, and the outstanding natural beauty. Our aim is to be able to share these fantastic open spaces with as wide an audience as possible,” she added.

As part of our 10 Goals, we are committed to growing and developing our social, environmental and economic contribution to the local community.
