April and May are always exciting months for us on the Estate - with the introduction of spring, new life is bursting at the seams.
This month we had some warm and adorable introductions and exciting discoveries.
Our lambing season was particularly thrilling this year, with the introduction of our Hampshire Down Rams meaning some of our lambs looked a little different from previous seasons.
In April, our trusty sheepdog Roe gave birth to 8 adorable puppies. We could not resist another photoshoot before sending them to their new homes. Two puppies, Quinn and Ferne, will stay with Shepherd Tom to help on the Farm.
We look forward to seeing what they get up to in the next couple of months and wish them every success in their serious sheepdog training.
In our mission to restore our gardens, our Gardeners have been working hard to re-discover a neglected route. Thanks to their efforts, we now have a new lakeside walk connecting our Rose Garden to the Temple of Flora. This offers views of the lake, to discover on the route, and a spot to sit back and relax in the Temple.
Blooming Bluebells and flourishing Fields
In May, our gardens bloomed with beautiful daffodils, tulips, and bluebells. However, the excitement did not end there. We chose to refrain from mowing certain grassland areas, which allowed native plants like Bee Orchids, Pyramidal Orchids, and even Dandelions to grow.
